A stabilisation or even a slight decrease in the prevalence of overweight and obesity in the paediatric population of Greece were observed mainly in the low socioeconomic districts of the country; Significant improvement of children’s dietary habits were noted, with increased adherence to the Mediterranean Diet.
The programme records and evaluates on a yearly basis the growth rate, dietary habits, physical activity and level of fitness of all students, even in cases where access could have been impossible due to geographic, economic or other constraints.
