Aim

The Wellness Valley is a long-term territorial strategy operating as a living lab for health promotion, where multiple projects, policies, institutions, and private actors align under a shared vision. Their aims include:

Shift health systems from treatment to prevention.

Embed physical activity into daily life, not only sport.

Make wellness a shared cultural norm, not an individual responsability.

Position the territory as a global model for preventive health.

Outcome

Outcome

Over the last 20 years, more than 400 public and private stakeholders have worked together to promote initiatives and a positive impact in multiple strategic wellness sectors:

Health and Prevention: Educational programmes and cross-sector collaborations that promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles across all age groups, aligning with the WHO’s Global Action Plan on Physical Activity.

Sustainable economic development: Growth of the wellness sector through increased business creation, employment, and innovation, positioning wellness as a key contributor to the region’s sustainable economy.

Promotion of the territory: Strengthened regional identity and international visibility of Romagna as a wellness destination, supported by year-round events and initiatives linking wellness with tourism, sport, culture, and education.

These outcomes are published by the Wellness Valley Observatory and disseminated through annual reports
